Albert Fults (Democrat)
Presiding Commissioner

Fults, now in his second term as presiding commissioner, has lived in the north part of Ste. Genevieve County for more than 40 years, after being born and raised in Crystal City, Missouri. After high school graduation and before entering the workforce, he studied for one year at the University of Missouri. He retired after 29 year's employment with Union Electric Company. Fults has served as chairman of the University of Missouri Outreach and Extension Council, president of the Ste. Genevieve County Fair Board, and as a director of the Missouri Polled Hereford Association. He is actively involved in a number of regional efforts involving air quality, transportation and economic development.


Ray Gettinger (Democrat)
District II Commissioner

Gettinger, a lifelong resident of the county, was first elected to the County Commission in November 2000. He has been involved in agri- business for over three decades and is co-owner and operator of a family farm. He serves on the board of the Ozora Volunteer Fire Department and presently is in his second term as commander of American Legion Post 150. He also has served 7+ years on the University of Missouri Extension Council, is a member of Sacred Heart Parish, and Community Services Forum.


Garry Nelson (Democrat)
District I Commissioner

Nelson was first elected to the commission in November 2004. He previously served nine years on the Ste. Genevieve County R-II School District Board of Education and is active in the Ste. Genevieve Golf Club, and Ste. Genevieve County Community Services Forum. He has served on the East Missouri Action Agency board as Secretary and Treasurer, and also the Southeast Missouri Commissioners Association. He is retired from the construction industry.
